It is day one of the Morning Pages Challenge and I cannot be more excited!
Today I'm going to give you my favourite way to write, when to write and maybe even a little bit what you can write down.

Let's go! ☾ ♥

"life begins at the end of your comfort zone."

Maybe you're here and you're like; yea, what am I suppose to think of this? I've been there!
Last year was my transition from blocking myself to write about my feelings to writing about them and accepting them when I write it down. I know you think it's the biggest bullshit, I know you don't believe in this 'hippie' shit, but trust me, if you try it and keep on it for a while, you are going to feel different.

Would it been easier if you already wrote in a diary? I can't tell, maybe it would, maybe it wouldn't.
There is just one way to find out.

My tips, my experiences.

• I love writing in bed right after I woke up, okay I may have done a million other things after I woken up, but I always crawl back in bed when I'm going to write. For me, my bed is a sanctuary, a place of rest and peace. And it helps writing my stuff down.

• Don't force yourself. It's okay to have an empty page with only the date above it. It's okay to just write one word down. If your mind is not telling you anything then that is okay. Don't force yourself to write something down, let it be a natural flow.

• When to write is absolutely your own choice, maybe you can write better after a long hot shower, breakfast or even a workout. I've had plenty of times that I've been doing so many things in the morning that I didn't write until 3PM (it did empty my mind entirely and make me feel calm after the hectic morning), I do recommend to write after you woke up and just done a few things, but that's all up to you.

• What to write. I can't tell you what to write, that is in your own mindset, as said above, don't force yourself and let your mind tell you what to write. 90% of my days begin with: "I slept [.....] today" or "Today I'm going to do .... " for some reason that's the first thing that comes up in my mind when I decide to write. For me my sleep routine is important for the sake of my mental health and I think that's why I start with how I slept.

Grab yourself a great notebook that really fits you and a pen (or pencil or whatever you love to write with) and give it a go. Share your Morning Pages at instagram and tag me @thehistoryhippie

Happy writing! xx
