I have been all into nature and trying to reduce my ecological footprint drastically, my waste is so much less and I am buying biological and plant-based food, beauty & health care products, etc. etc.
But there is this thing … the phone case thing. We all tend to buy sh*t load of cases from sites like Wish, AliExpress and whatsoever, all plastic (not fantastic) quality. They come in plastic, they are plastic and we throw them away if it’s just not what we expected. Hello, lots and lots of waste.
Of course, it’s not only the phone case issue that product waste, it’s literally everything, like buying new cellphones and just tossing your old one away ( while it’s perfectly working well enough for a second round to make someone happy ( I have bought my last three iPhones refurbished and they’re perfectly working )).
I have been guilty of buying lots of useless cases and they’re laying around in a drawer, but since I’ve got a new phone, I have reduced my waste in cases in two cases and one of them I’m going to show right now.

Meet Pela
This Pela, Pela is a Canadian based company that creates phone cases (and sunglasses) from PLANTS. Isn’t that just mind-blowing?! They’re amazing, they’re super strong and when you’re done with your current case? Throw it in the compost! (or give it to someone else, to have them experience the amazingness of Pela.) Read more about their story and browse their amazing products at PELACASE.COM.
I wasn’t really sure if I would want to spend such an amount of money on a case, but I would eventually spend the same amount of money on crappy cases that are producing waste, and thus I jumped in and ordered my case.
And I am officially in L O V E, it covers my phone perfectly and protects it so good. It is not slippery, it is not having a really weird plant smell (it smells a bit like my hand cream which is made out of rose) and, look at it.
It is stunning.

I have the Special Edition Rose Quartz with ‘Lead the way‘ engraved. My phone is silver and I somewhat love pink-ish together with the white.
These cases are for selected iPhone, Samsung, Google Pixel and Huawei phones.
You can make a change by just starting to use eco-friendly products!
I want to get the sunglasses myself.
Let me know if you are willing to buy one good ‘expensive’ case that’s eco-friendly or if you rather just stay put with the cheap plastic ones?
